The Victron Orion-TR voltage dropper is designed to convert an input voltage of 24V DC (in fact anywhere between 18V and 35V DC) into a 12V DC output for use on most electrical items on board boats, motorhomes and other automotive applications. For the best performance, we would recommend 4mm single core cable is used the same as the existing cable already attached to the solar panel junction box. The most efficient method of extending the existing cable is by using a 4mm single-core cable fitted with a pair of compatible MC Type 4 Solar Connectors.

For status monitoring and set-up Load output Over-discharge of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output will disconnect the load when the battery has been discharged to a pre-set voltage.
Some loads (especially inverters) can best be connected directly to the battery, and the inverter remote control connected to the load output. A special interface cable may be needed, please see the manual.
The connect and disconnect voltages are adjustable.
Day/night timing of the load output
This option allows for a pre-set ON-time after dusk.
