The advantage of this system is that you can aim one camera down at the rear bumper and have it powered from the reversing lights, so that this lens would act as your reversing camera.
The other camera would be aimed straight outwards, or if you are towing a trailer, it can be aimed to keep an eye on the trailer and be powered from a switch on the dashboard of the vehicle.
This camera could be on whenever you wanted it on and could give you permanent rear vision when you are on the move.
